WHAT DOES A CADDIE DO?
A caddie is someone who assists a golfer during a round of golf. Their responsibilities include carrying the golfer's bag, determining yardages, replacing divots, raking bunkers and tending to the flagstick.
It's a great summer job for young people. You spend the summer outdoors earning good money, and you get the opportunity to meet influential people and develop strong communication skills. You also can potentially qualify for a full tuition and housing college scholarship.
WHY IS CADDYING IMPORTANT?
Caddying is part of golf's heritage, "the way golf was meant to be played," and part of its future. It is also a great way to learn the game of golf. Caddying is an investment for the future of young men and women. The Western Golf Association is working to keep people active and interested in this great sport.
